Supporting Volunteering across Blackpool

Whether you’re looking for volunteering roles, or need volunteers for your organisation, we’re here to help every step of the way. You can search for volunteering opportunities, advertise volunteering vacancies, and access support on a wide variety of aspects of volunteering.

Interested in Volunteering?

If you have a good idea of what you’re looking for already, or just want to see what’s currently available, you can access our database of volunteering opportunities via our website. You can view all current opportunities at any time, but to enquire you need to be a registered user. Signing up is easy and completely free.

If you need more advice, or aren’t quite sure where to start we can work with you to determine your existing skills and experience, causes that you’re passionate about, and what you’re looking for from volunteering to help suggest opportunities that we think will be a good match for you.

If you’re interested in further support, you can pop in to the Volunteer Centre Abingdon Street Office or come down to one of our regular weekly Community Connection Cafés to have a chat with us about volunteering.

If you’ve never volunteered before, and are looking for how to start, we can also offer training and advice on getting volunteer ready.

Looking for Volunteers?

If you are part of an organisation that has volunteering opportunities in Blackpool, we can provide free support to help promote your opportunities and offer advice on how to attract the most suitable applicants.

Our volunteering database gives local residents a one-stop place where they can see the volunteering roles currently available, and our one-to-one support helps to direct potential volunteers to opportunities that best suit their skills and interests.

We also regularly promote through our social media pages and at events throughout the year. All enquiries are sent directly to you, so that you can still follow your own vetting and recruitment processes.

Supporting Organisations

BlackpoolCAN offers advice on good volunteering practices, whether this is to organisations who are looking to recruit volunteers for the first time and are looking for where to start, or those who are looking to review their current practices.

We facilitate regular volunteer coordinator meetings. These informal networking meetings are for those people who are overseeing volunteers and volunteering practices in their organisations and provides a place where they can meet up and share ideas, discuss best practice in volunteering standards, and ensure they are creating meaningful volunteer experiences.
